Article about Enimbos

The advance of cloud computing poses new challenges in the technological management of companies. Not only those derived from the migration of the infrastructure to the cloud, but above all because it forces us to monitor, control and optimize these environments. "Technology can help companies control the cloud and align the consumption of these infrastructures with the business", explains Javier de la Cuerda, CEO of Enimbos, a Spanish consultancy specialized in this field.

The truth is that many companies face a complex environment that, if not managed properly, can raise the costs of having a cloud infrastructure. "On the one hand, it is necessary to control a very high technical knowledge because public clouds such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud are launching new services almost every week," De la Cuerda explains.

Control costs

This expert stresses the difficulty of controlling the costs of services that are provisioned in the cloud. "Vendor bills are difficult to interpret. Sometimes companies are paying for infrastructure that they are not really paying", he illustrates.

Tools such as RightScale, Turbonomic, Cloudyn - which was acquired by Microsoft -, or CloudHealth, among others, allow to optimize expenses in the cloud by identifying resources that are not being used, so that they can be adjusted. "Thus, companies can make more efficient decisions around their cloud infrastructures", summarizes the CEO of Enimbos, which uses the CloudHealth tool.

Enimbos, which recorded revenues of 2.5 million euros in 2018, has proposed to grow this year to 6.5 million billings. In addition to services in the cloud environment, the company is developing its own tool, in which it has already invested half a million euros, which allows companies to manage the cloud management in an automated way in a pay-per-use model. "We believe that it can be a tractor of international growth for the company", explains De la Cuerda. The company, which has just opened in Portugal, has on its radar markets such as the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The jump to the United States is proposed, says De la Cuerda, through a joint venture. In addition, the Spanish company will enter the resale of public cloud services.
